GTS Race 2

What a difference the weather can make! GTS Race 2, held on Sunday December 13th, was mostly sunny and rain free, meaning competitors could take part in the first swim leg of the series. It was a sensational effort from Peter Kerr who proved he’s not just a one-trick pony by taking out the Elite Men’s category for the second race in a row. Kristian McCartney took second place and all eyes will be on these guys at Race 3 in Sandringham, Victoria's number one Olympic distance triathlon.

The Elite Women’s race was won by outsider Elly Franks who showed she has what it takes to outrun some of the fastest girls on the scene in a sprint to the finish. Madeline Oldfield took out second place and is clearly one to watch in the battle for series champion.

We received some fantastic feedback and support from everyone at the ASCEND marquee and it was great to see some familiar faces! See you all after the Christmas break in sunny Sandringham on January 10th!
