Hanny Allston Takes Out NZ Half Marathon Title

Hanny Allston, who will be settling back in Melbourne come the new year, has surprised even herself with her latest victory; running past race favourite Ady Nagawati, at the New Zealand Half Marathon Championships, on the weekend.

A last minute entry to the event and turning up to the start line with heavy training legs; she put herself in a winning position, holding second place at around the 18km mark.

“But then I found some energy somewhere deep inside,” Hanny said. “I ran the last 3km in 3 min 30 sec per km, to win in 77min.”

A deservedly, very happy Hanny Allston, commented that the win topped off a great last half of 2008 – that also included first place at the Australian Orienteering Championships, in Tasmainia.

Hanny has been training with the aid of ASCEND Elite Recovey and ASCEND Elite Protein Catalyst – now available online as part of our special Recovery Starter Pack.
